Referee Brian Gavin will be able to take charge of this Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final between Kilkenny and Waterford, despite facing a one-month ban.
The three-time All-Ireland final referee is facing a suspension from the Offaly County Board after comments he made to another match official during a recent Offaly junior football quarter-final.
However, he is set to appeal the ban to the Offaly Hearings Committee, and will be free to continue refereeing until after the hearing.
But if the hearing goes against him, he will be unable to officiate the All-Ireland hurling final on September 6th.
