Brian Cody: 'If you hear it like that, you'd wonder 'my goodness me''

Kilkenny manager Brian Cody is steeling himself for the challenge of taking a much-changed panel to glory in 2015.

Stalwarts like Henry Shefflin, Tommy Walsh, JJ Delaney, David Herity, Aidan Fogarty and Brian Hogan all hung up their inter-county hurls ahead of this season's championship.

The 10-time All-Ireland winning manager was speaking to fellow Kilkenny man Bobby Kerr on Down To Business, who listed off some of the big names who have left the stage.

"There was such experience there and such talent there and obviously household names and great leaders for us over the past number of years. If you hear it like that, you'd wonder 'my goodness me, where are we going'? But the reality is now that you take on that challenge. We always talked about that panel being the most important thing and each and every one of those players you mentioned there will see themselves as indispensable with regard to the panel," said Cody.

"We can't afford to live in the past. We remember what those players have done for us but our challenge is to take on the year's championship and to work with the panel of players we have."

Cody also shared his thoughts on the comparisons between sport and business, and the amenities on offer in Kilkenny.
