Are centre-half-forwards being squeezed out of their comfort zones?

Former Tyrone centre-forward Brian McGuigan feels players in his favoured position do not have the space in which to weave their magic anymore.

Speaking to Off The Ball tonight ahead of Tyrone's match against Sligo this Saturday in the All-Ireland qualifiers, McGuigan touched on a point raised by our own Colm 'Wooly' Parkinson about the amount of "chopping and changing" in Tyrone's half-forward line.

"If I was playing now, how would I cope with it? I just think that area where I would've tried to find my wee pocket of space in and around the '40, I just don't think there's any room there at the minute. And if you look at any team in Ireland at the minute, is there a real standout centre-half-forward that can make play? I think if you're going to link play, it's going to have to be from the midfield area where there's a bit more space," he said, adding that Mark Bradley has come into that position for Tyrone lately and excelled.

Tyrone's clash with Sligo is live on Off The Ball this Saturday at Croke Park.
