Meath might have fallen short against Dublin in the O'Bryne Cup but for former Royals man Graham Geraghty, the second half performance was heartening.
Speaking to Newstalk's Oisin Langan after the 1-15 to 1-13 loss, the former Royals half forward highlighted half-time changes in Meath's ultimately frutiless fightback.
"Coming up to half-time I thought Dublin would walk away with the second half and possibly should have been six or seven points up. Meath re-grouped at half-time and made a few substitutions and took the game to Dublin second half. It was a very entertaining game in the second half," he said.
Geraghty picked up forwards Michael Newman and Andrew Tormey as key performers for the Royals in the second half.
"I think a lot of Meath fans will be leaving here very happy even though we were beaten," he said, adding that he was also impressed by the Dubs.
