Jonny Cooper told Off The Ball that a potential black card didn't cross his mind when he tangled with Mayo's Aidan O'Shea in Saturday's All-Ireland final.
Dublin claimed their sixth All-Ireland title in-a-row but the incident between Cooper and O'Shea was highly contentious.
"A black card didn’t even enter my head," Cooper said.
"People were slagging me after but in the game I didn’t feel that at all. I haven’t looked back on it so maybe it looked closer but it didn’t feel like that in the game."
Kevin McManamon also joined the show to discuss Dublin's triumph and he gave his thoughts on the incident.
"I didn't know Jonny was that strong, Aidan falling over when he got walloped by him," he joked.
"I think black cards have relatively disappeared out of the game this year because of the ten minutes. I haven’t seen many of them, it feels like they’re not being given as much which I think is probably a good thing,"
"It’s probably good to see that there’s less and less black cards in this championship.
"They are kind of non-existent at club level as well. My feeling is that you just don’t see them as much and I think referees would rather give a yellow card, unless it’s absolutely blatant."
Saturday was just the latest landmark in a remarkable run for Dublin football. Manager Dessie Farrell joined Monday's OTB AM and he addressed the wider concerns regarding Dublin's dominance of Gaelic football and how it has reflected on the achievements of this current crop of players.
"I made the point after the game, and I know the players aren't in a position to say this themselves and by their nature they wouldn't, but I think a lot of the narrative is inaccurate," Farrell said.
"Having seen what the commitment and dedication is like up close and personal over the last 12 months, it is immense. I think there is a disservice done in many ways to this special bunch of players."
