For a second successive year, Cork are the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Champions.
Senior
Cork 1-13 Galway 0-09
The rebelettes stormed to a 1-13 to 0-09 victory against Galway in the showpiece event of the All-Ireland Camogie Triple Header today in Croke Park. The Tribeswomen staged a gallant resistance against the Leesiders but a Briege Corkery goal on 53 minutes put precious daylight between the sides and in the remaining minutes, Cork outscored Galway 1-3 to 0-02.
Cork were first to fire off the engines with captain Aisling Thompson trundling through from midfield to clip the ball over the bar with a strike over her right shoulder.
This represents a phenomenal 15th All-Ireland medal for dual star Corkery, who has another All-Ireland final to look forward to at the end of the month. Meanwhile fellow dual dynamo Riona Buckley claimed her 6th Camogie medal and Gemma O'Connor won her 7th.
Galway had to wait until the 5th minute before contributing to the scoreboard and were trailing 0-08 0-04 by Half-Time. This ultimately set the tone for the outcome of the game but it looked like Galway were on course for a resurgence shortly after the restart. They hit three without response to make it a one point game for a period but that was close as it got.
Cork had conceded just 3-60 ahead of the final and that class prevailed as they limited Galway to just two further points for the remainder of the game.
Intermediate
Waterford 2-09 Kildare 1-05
Waterford capped off a successful season today with a win against Kildare in the All-Ireland intermediate final to add to their Division 2 League victory. This marks a double promotion from Waterford who will be competing at top flight level in both League and Championship Camogie next year.
It was Kildare who stormed into this game with a Noelle Earley goal in the opening exchanges. But Kildare failed to capitalise on that momentum and eventually capitulated making this a third defeat to Waterford for Kildare in 2015.
Waterford's recovery began shortly after conceding that early goal and hit back with 2-4 without reply to head into the lead at Half-Time. Both sides struggled to contend with the soggy conditions which was reflected in the final scoreline forcing both sides to reconfigure their formations.
Kildare pulled both half-forwards deep into their defenses while Niamh Rockett performed a similar role for Waterford.
Waterford's two goals came within minutes of each other. The first was a 29th minute Aisling Power goal followed by a thunder stroke from Beth Carton which careered through the Kildare defence with ease from a 20m free.
From there it was all Waterford but not without a fight from Kildare. Captain Susie O'Carroll scored twice towards the end as a last response from the Lillywhites as Waterford plundered on for the victory.
Junior
Laois 2-4 Roscommon 1-3
Forced to deal with a similarly inclement climate, Laois and Roscommon played out a low-scoring contest. And it was the midlanders who fell the right side of the slog to end their All-Ireland torture having lost the last two finals.
The majority of the damage was completed by Half-Time with Laois trotting to the dressing room 2-6 to 0-04 ahead of Roscommon.
Similar to the Senior game Roscommon rallied in the early period of the second half and hit a goal through Niamh Farrell and a point from a Kelly Hopkins free.
But Laois quelled the Roscommon rebellion with player of the match Louise Mahony leading the way to victory.
