Junior Firpo is a 'disaster area' for Leeds - John Giles

Former Leeds United midfielder John Giles joined Nathan Murphy on The Football Show to discuss Junior Firpo and Leeds United.

Leeds United are likely going to be relegated.

Sam Allardyce's side sit 18th in the league, one point ahead of Leicester City in 19th and one point behind Everton in 17th. And while they are still mathematically alive with two games to go, a big opportunity was missed last weekend.

Newcastle United came to Elland Road and left with a point. But Leeds took an early lead in the game through Luke Ayling. Callum Wilson then scored two penalties to give Newcastle the advantage.

Leeds equalized in the 79th minute and spent 10 minutes trying to find a winner. But during the final moments, Junior Firpo was sent off.

Firpo had also given away one of the penalties in the game. He won't play for Leeds again this season now he is suspended. And John Giles thinks that's a blessing-in-disguise for his former team.

"He's been playing for them for a long time and I can't understand how he's in the team," Giles said.

"Firpo. Every time I see him he's kicking people. He gave a penalty away and then after that he gets a red card. I don't know how he's in the team. I know Allardyce has only been there a short time, but every time I see him he's a disaster area.

"He's suspended now for the rest of the season. That's the good news for Leeds."

Leeds face West Ham United away on Sunday in their penultimate game of the season before they face Tottenham at home on the final day.

Kyle Walker again proved his value to Manchester City against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
