England neutralise All Blacks to secure World Cup final place

England have overcome New Zealand by a score of 19-7 to book their place in the World Cup final.

Next Saturday will mark England's fourth World Cup final and Eddie Jones's first since he was on the losing side with Australia against England in 2003.

Jones's side, who will face either Wales or South Africa in the final, started Saturday's semi-final in dream fashion with Manu Tuilagi getting over the line within two minutes after an England lineout.

A conversion and George Ford penalty meant they went into half-time keeping New Zealand scoreless and with a ten-point lead.

Elliot Daly missed the opportunity to grab another three points for England on 42 minutes, directing his penalty wide of the posts.

Three minutes later Ben Youngs looked to have got the game's second try but for TMO to rule that the ball was knocked on in the build-up during the maul.

George Ford finally did good on England's threats to extend the lead, slotting a penalty between the posts to make it 13-0.

On 57 minutes the reigning champions finally got off the mark. However, their opening try was the result of an England mistake rather than the trademark All Blacks skill.

An overthrown England lineout five metres from their own try line landed in the hands of Ardea Savia who could barely believe his luck before driving over the try line.

Richie Mo'unga took care of the conversion to give New Zealand more than twenty minutes to make up the six-point difference in the scores.

However, England weren't giving up the ball easily and it was two more George Ford penalties that concluded the day's scoring and ensured England's place in a fourth World Cup final next weekend.
