'When are we back?' | Con O'Callaghan won't looked beyond today

Con O'Callaghan spoke to OTB Sports in the immediate aftermath of Dublin's All-Ireland Final defeat of Mayo in Croke Park on Saturday evening.

The scorer of 1-1 and man-of-the-match in Dublin's sixth successive All-Ireland Final win, Con O'Callaghan has allowed himself no time to consider what 2021 may bring just yet.

Yet another decisive game where he had a decisive impact, O'Callaghan's explained to OTB Sports that the collective focus on the task at hand was all that concerned the team recently.

"What is it," O'Callaghan replied, unaware that the inter-county season will be reportedly resuming once more as the Allianz Leagues commence in late February.

"I don't even know [when it starts again] to be honest, we've been so focused on this year that I've tried to keep the head away from the media so I don't know what the plan is.

"We'll enjoy our Christmas with the family and reassess in the New Year as always."

Running out victors with five points to spare, Dublin's unprecedented sixth All-Ireland triumph in succession has left onlookers wondering what else this team can possibly do.

Although Con O'Callaghan is determined to keep the good times going for the Dubs, he denied any hint of a suggestion that what they are currently achieving is easily done.

"We're going to try and keep going as long as we can," he asserted, "but I suppose we've ridden our luck in a few years.

"We were very nearly beaten last year - we've been nearly beaten a couple of times against Mayo previously too.

"Momentum is a strange thing and you can get it at good times in games. If it goes against you, and if a couple of calls go against you, they are very fine margins.

"We're obviously delighted to come out and we have been successful the last couple of years and we want to keep that going, yeah."
