Bono and the Edge of U2 have joined together with Dutch DJ Martin Garrix to record the official song of the 2020 European Championships.
Dutch DJ Martin Garrix has teamed up with U2's Bono and the Edge to record "We Are The People", an official song for the 2020 European Championships.
"Creating the music for one of the biggest sports events in the world together with Bono and the Edge has been an incredible experience," Garrix said in a statement.
"I’m very proud of what we did together and excited to finally share it with the world!"
Garrix explained that work began on the collaboration before the COVID-19 pandemic and it was their intention all along to wait and release the song without any prior warning.
That being said, U2 did allude to the new song when Bono and the Edge were pictured alongside Garrix on an image published by the group's Instagram page.
