"This is actually impossible" claims Gary Lineker after Leicester win the Premier League

Match of the Day presenter and former England international Gary Lineker has been one of Leicester City's biggest cheerleaders throughout their season on their unlikely march to Premier League glory.

The 55-year-old has the night off on Monday from presenting Match of the Day, but was still interviewed on the show after his boyhood team made history. Lineker spent seven years at the club at the start of his career.

"I just can't get my head around it. I just think it's genuinely the biggest sporting shock in probably sporting history. I cant't think of anything that surpasses it, in terms of a team. When it's your team as well... It could happen to another side, but your own? It's just too extraordinary. It's too difficult to put over in words really."

The team started the season as a 5,000/1 longshot, and Lineker revealed that even those odds he felt were generous.

"This is actually impossible. There were no odds I would have taken at the start of the season. No odds. You could have given me 10,000,000/1 and I'd have said; 'Nah. It's just wasting a quid'."

In December, Lineker famously tweeted, that he would present the opening episode of Match of the Day next season in his underwear if Leicester won the League. It looks like he will have to keep to his word now, but would not confirm or deny on the show if the plan would go ahead.
