American Dustin Johnston leads on -6 after the first round of the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.

He is one shot clear of Sweden's Daniel Lingmerth after 18 holes.

Rory McIlroy will be happy with his opening round. The reigning champion is on -1 alongside playing partner Jordan Spieth.

Graeme McDowell has a disastrous finish to his round. He bogeyed his final three holes to fall to +1

It was a tough day for the rest of the Irish. Former champion Padraig Harrington is +4 while Darren Clarke and Shane Lowry are two shots further back.

GAELIC GAMES

James O'Donoghue has emerged a doubt for Kerry's All Ireland semi final with Tyrone next weekend.

The reigning Player of the Year from last year has a shoulder injury.

BOXING

Aston Villa will host Manchester United in a rare Friday night game in the Barclays Premier League. Kick-off is at 7.45pm.

Once again David De Gea will not feature for the Reds.
