The Final Whistle: Watch Shane Long get on the scoresheet tonight

GAA

Clare's long reign as Munster and All-Ireland champions has finally been brought to a halt.

Limerick won tonight's Bord Gais Energy Munster Under-21 final by 0-22 to 0-19 at a packed Cusack Park in Ennis.

Thirteen points from Ronan Lynch helped Limerick to dethrone the holders and set up an All-Ireland semi-final clash with Galway on August 22nd.

The Kerry footballers have made one change ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland quarter-final against Kildare.

Stephen O'Brien returns to the side and has been named in the half-forward line in place of Johnny Buckley.

Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has named his team for Saturday's qualifier against Sligo at Croke Park.

There is one change to the Tyrone defence as Rory Brennan replaces Cathal McCarron at corner-back in the only alteration from the convincing Round 3B win over Tipperary.

Meanwhile, Galway also make just one change for their qualifier against Donegal this Saturday.

Adrian Varley starts at corner-forward instead of Peadar Og O'Griofa, with manager Kevin Walsh keeping faith with the bulk of the side that defeated Derry by six points last time out.

SOCCER

Shane Long has made a goal-scoring start to the new season after he came off the bench to help Southampton to victory in their Europa League qualifier.

The Irish international got the insurance goal for the Saints as they defeated Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem 3-0 at St Mary's.

In contrast, West Ham have work left ahead of them after allowing a two-goal lead to slip as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Romanian side, Astra at Upton Park.

GAA

Finally, GAA President Aogán Ó Fearghail has expressed his condolences to the family of Aaron Devlin, who died earlier this evening.

The Derry county board and the Ballinderry Shamrocks club have confirmed that the 23-year-old passed away after he was admitted to hospital last Friday with meningitis.
