Roscommon beat Cavan in their All-Ireland football qualifier clash at Breffni Park.
Cathal Cregg and Enda Smith (2) got the goals for Roscommon in the 3-17 to -16 win.
Kildare also got a 1-15 to 1-13 qualifier win over Offaly to make up for their heavy defeat to Dublin in last week's Leinster semi-final, while a goal made all the difference as Longford defeated Clare 2-12 to 1-12.
Meanwhile, Clare, Cork and Dublin won their All-Ireland hurling qualifiers against Offaly, Wexford and Laois respectively.
TENNIS
Defending women's champion, Petra Kvitova has been knocked out at the third round of Wimbledon.
Jelena Jankovic was the player to upset her, beating Kvitova 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was knocked out by Ivo Karlovic after Karlovic took all his three sets on tie-breaks and he will face Andy Murray who overcame Andreas Seppi in four sets.
Earlier, Roger Federer needed a fourth set to put Australia's Sam Groth away on centre court to progress to the fourth round and Sabine Lisicki was knocked out by Timea Bacsinszky.
SOCCER
In the League of Ireland Premier Division, Bray Wanderers heaped more misery on bottom side Limerick as they recorded a 1-0 away win.
A late goal from Ayman Ben Mohamed gave Longford Town a late 2-1 home win over Bohemians, while Sligo Rovers and Galway United played out a 1-1 draw.
GOLF
Michael Hoey and Damien McGrane finished their third rounds at the French Open on 2 and 6-over respectively.
Jaco Van Zyl is out on front on his own after shooting a 64 today. He is on 10-under, two shots clear of Maximillian Kiefer.
CYCLING
Australian Rohan Dennis has won the opening stage of this year's Tour de France.
He triumphed in a time trial in the Dutch city of Utrecht after clocking a time 14 minutes and 56 seconds.
Dan Martin finished the best of the Irish.
He completed the course in 16 minutes and 13 seconds, just 3 seconds quicker than Nicolas Roche.
Sam Bennett was also in action, coming home in 16 minutes and 44 seconds.
