The FAI say they are considering legal action in the wake of allegations made by an Argentinian newspaper surrounding the friendly between Ireland and Argentina in August 2010.
The FAI has denied any suggestion that the match, which featured Lionel Messi, was arranged by FIFA in an effort to appease the Association in the wake of the Thierry Henry handball incident.
The match, which was the first international football match to be played at the redeveloped Lansdowne Road, was announced six months before World Cup playoff match between Ireland and France.
Meanwhile, La Nacion newspaper also alleges that the Irish players were paid $10K each not to injure Lionel Messi during the game, which former Irish international Kevin Kilbane has strenuously denied.
GAA
Wexford and Kilkenny will contest this year's Leinster U21 Hurling final after winning their semi-finals tonight.
Wexford continued the defence of their provincial title with an impressive second half display, which helped them to defeat Offaly by 2-16 to 1-12 at O'Connor Park in Tullamore.
And first-half goals from Ciaran Ryan and Liam Hickey helped Kilkenny to claim a narrow win over an impressive Carlow side with the Cats holding out to win by 2-14 to 2-12
That decider will take place on July 8th.
This year's Connacht final between Mayo and Sligo will be held at Dr Hyde Park on July 19th.
The capacity for the game has been set at 20,000 and the Connacht Council say that it is confident that this will accommodate the expected attendance.
RUGBY
Leinster's Jack Conan and Tadhg Furlong are the only uncapped players that have been included in the Ireland training squad ahead of this year's Rugby World Cup.
Rhys Ruddock has been ruled out of the tournament after head coach Joe Schmidt confirmed that the Leinster flanker suffered a fractured arm during the recent Tiblisi Cup campaign.
Veteran centre Gordon D'Arcy has been included but there is no place for the likes of Munster out-half Ian Keatley, Ulster centre Luke Marshall or Connacht prop Nathan White.
