The Final Whistle: Dublin name team to face Kildare

GAA

The Dublin footballers have made just one change ahead of Sunday's Leinster Championship semi-final against Kildare at Croke Park.

Manager Jim Gavin has altered his midfield partnership as Cian O'Sullivan lines up alongside Brian Fenton, with Denis Bastick the player to miss out.

There is also a positional switch in attack as Diarmuid Connolly moves to full-forward and Kevin McManamon drifts out to centre-forward.

Earlier, Kildare also named their side for Sunday's game, with Eoin Doyle replacing the injured Fergal Conway at wing-back in the only change from the side that beat Laois in their quarter-final replay.

SOCCER

Dundalk put six goals past a hapless Limerick FC at Oriel Park in the SSE Airtricity League tonight.

Brian Gartland and David McMillan scored two goals apiece to help Stephen Kenny's side maintain their three point lead at the top of the table.

Cork City have kept pace with the Lilywhites after two second half goals helped them to claim a 2-0 win over Derry City at the Brandywell.

Shamrock Rovers remain in third place after a 2-1 win over their hosts Galway United.

Elsewhere, two first half goals from Chris Forrester helped St Pat's to a 3-0 win at home to Longford Town and Drogheda United upset their hosts Bohemians 1-0 at Dalymount Park.

In the First Division, Wexford Youths have gone top of the table after a 3-2 win over Cabinteely at Stradbrook.

Wexford have overtaken Finn Harps, who were beaten 3-2 by Shelbourne at Tolka Park, where both sides finished the game with just 10 men.

GOLF

Michael Hoey and Peter Lawrie have moved into contention at the BMW International Open.

Hoey is tied for third place on 10-under par after a superb round of 65 today, which leaves him two shots behind outright leader, Rafa Cabrera Bello.

Lawrie is on 7-under par after a round of 67 today.

Meanwhile, Padraig Harrington has missed the weekend cut at the Travelers Championship after a disastrous second round 75 that saw him slip from 4-under par to 1-over.

Bubba Watson leads going into the weekend on 11-under.
