The Final Whistle: Dublin hurlers reveal team for Deise date

SOCCER

St Patrick's Athletic have strengthened their grip on third place in the Airtricity League Premier Division after a comfortable win over Sligo Rovers tonight at the Showgrounds.

Chris Forrester scored twice and Jamie McGrath got the other as the Saints claimed a 3-0 victory over their hosts.

Also in the top-flight, a first-half blitz saw Bohemians defeat Derry City 4-2 at Dalymount Park.

Four goals inside the opening 21 minutes helped Bohs to a comfortable victory, despite Derry's Mark Timlin scoring twice in the second-half.

Meanwhile, Bray Wanderers claimed a narrow 1-0 win over their hosts Galway United after an injury-time own-goal from Galway's Sam Oji.

In the First Division, Wexford Youths missed out on a chance to regain the top-spot in the table as they were beaten 3-1 by ten-man Athlone Town.

And ten-man Shelbourne scored two late goals to beat their hosts Waterford United 2-1 at the RSC, with Waterford finishing with just nine players on the pitch.

GAA

The Dublin hurlers have named their team ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland quarter-final against Waterford.

Manager Ger Cunningham has made sweeping changes from the qualifier win over Limerick.

Full-back Cian O'Callaghan, wing-back Joesph Boland, midfielder Niall McMorrow and corner-forward David 'Dotsy' O'Callaghan have all been included in the side.

Shane Durkin, Niall Corcoran, Daire Plunkett and Eamon Dillon are the players to make way.

In football, Galway have been crowned Connacht Minor champions after beating Sligo by 4-12 to 1-8 tonight in their provincial final replay.

Goals from Paudie McCormack, Finnian O Laoi, Sean Kelly and Desmond Connelly helped Galway to a comfortable 13-point win at Tuam Stadium.

ATHLETICS

Jamaican sprinters Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake have both been successful tonight as they continue their return to competitive action.

Bolt has stepped up his preparations for next month's World Championships after a commanding victory in the 100 metres at the London Anniversary Games tonight, recovering from a slow start in wet and windy conditions to win in a time of 9.87 seconds.

Meanwhile, Blake set a new Stadium Record after winning the big race of the night in the Morton Games, leading home a Jamaican 1-2-3 in a time of 10.12 seconds.
