A late Gerard Pique header was enough to give Spain a winning start to their Euro 2016 defence and also break Czech hearts in the process.
The 2008 and 2012 champions had carved out plenty of opportunities in Toulouse but had to wait 87 minutes to finally break through.
Spain dominated possession and the flow of the game from the off in their Group D opener but faced a resolute Czech defence and an in form Petr Cech.
