Owen Farrell's chances of playing against New Zealand may have been dealt a blow.
The England fly-half was named on the bench for Saturday's game against the Maori All Blacks, but has now been replaced by Wales star Dan Biggar.
Farrell has been replaced, due to a "grade one quadriceps strain in training". The injury puts into doubt his participation in the First Test against New Zealand later this month.
Battling with Johnny Sexton for the number 10 jersey, Farrell has impressed on his second Tour as a Lion. He started last weekend's win over Crusaders, and was a replacement in Tuesday's loss to the Highlanders.
News of Farrell's injury puts Johnny Sexton in pole position to start the opening Test, as Farrell returns to full-fitness. The remainder of the squad's 23 players remains the same, with Peter O'Mahony set to captain the side.
SQUAD UPDATE: Owen Farrell ruled out of #MABvBIL due to injury. Dan Biggar comes in on the bench.
