RUGBY

In the Champions Cup, Leinster Captain Jamie Heaslip says the loss to Toulon in yesterday's semi final is as gut wrenching as it gets.

25-20 was the final score after extra time in Marseille meaning Toulon meet Clermont in the final next month.

Heaslip says mistakes cost them.

SOCCER

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers admits they were second best against Aston Villa in yesterday's FA Cup semi final at Wembley.

Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph scored for Villa to ensure a 2-1 win after Philippe Coutinho had put the Liverpool one up.

Rodgers says the team let themselves down.

Manchester City reignited their Champions league push with a 2-0 win over West Ham while Spurs beat Newcastle 3-1 in yesterday's Premier League games.

HURLING

Waterford will play Cork in the Allianz league final on May 3rd after wins over Tipperary and Dublin at Nowlan Park.

The Rebels came from 12 points down to beat the Dubs 1-27 to 2-23 while Waterford overcame Tipperary 1-19 to 2-15.

Deise boss Derek McGrath says he wasn't worried even when Tipperary scored two early goals.

SNOOKER

The first round action of the World Championships continues at the Crucible this morning.

Barry Hawkins brings a 7 frames to 2 lead against Matthew Selt into the early session.

They'll be joined by Stuart Bingham and Robbie Williams who start their tie today.
