GOLF

Rickie Fowler claimed the Players Championship title in Sawgrass after a play off last night.

The American finished level on 12 under with Sergio Garcia and Kevin Kisner at the end of the final round.

Rory McIlroy ended 4 off the lead on 8 under while Padraig Harrington was 2 under and Graeme McDowell was level par.

SOCCER

Arsenal have the chance to go level on points with Manchester City in second pace in the Premier League when they take on Swansea this evening.

Arsenal haven't lost a League game since early February but their opponents have put back-to-back wins together in the last two weeks.

Kick-off at the Emirates is at 8 o'clock.

In yesterday's action, QPR were relegated to the Championship following a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Man City.

That was followed by what is likely to be the last meeting between Steven Gerrard's last Stamford Bridge appearance. It finished 1-1 between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking after the game, Jose Mourinho said he's going to miss his 'best enemy'.

In San Jose, the Irish womens side lost 3-0 to the United States in a friendly.

American striker Abby Wambach scored twice for the home side as they continue their World Cup preparations.

There are two games tonight in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

Cork will be looking to close Dundalk's seven-point gap at the top of the table with a win tonight - they welcome Drogheda to Turners Cross.

Shamrock Rovers will also be desperate to keep alive any title hopes as they go to Richmond Park to take on St. Patrick's Athletic. The game in Inchicore was rescheduled after it was postponed on Friday evening.

Both those matches get under way at 7.45pm.

HORSE RACING

Today's card is in Killarney, with the first going to post at 5.05pm.
