Hop on your bike this weekend to get some fresh air, exercise and raise some money for a great cause at the same time.
The Shabra Charity Foundation is organising a charity cycle this Saturday, September 5th, which hopes to raise money for new equipment for the Mater Hospital.
The money would go towards the purchase of new gene testing equipment, which would be the first of its kind in Ireland, and would put an end to the days of waiting up to two years for a test result to come back from America or Spain, at which point it is often too late to help those who really need it.
The gene sequencers can help to identify abnormalities that are often inherited, and save lives by taking the necessary precautions for Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), amongst other conditions.
Whether you're a dedicated cyclist or you want to just take the family out and help a good cause, there's a route for you to cover at the cycle, which will start at the Glencarn Hotel in Castleblaney this Saturday.
