Even without Lebron and Steph, the US Olympics basketball roster looks impressive

After claiming glory for Cleveland in the NBA Finals, LeBron James stated that he would be joining Steph Curry in staying home from this year's Olympic Games.

Despite the loss of arguably the two biggest names in the sport at the moment, there are still a huge number of superstars on the team which is rumoured to be headed to Rio in August.

USA Today's Jeff Zillgitt stated that those with knowledge of the makeup of the team have outlined the 12-man roster to him, although there has not been official confirmation from the U.S. Olympic Team yet.

Despite winning a tight series against Golden State Warriors, the Cavs only provide one player to the team in the form of Kyrie Irving, while the defeated finalists send three in Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes.

The roster in full is:

  • Kvein Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder)
  • DeMarcus Cousins (Sacramento Kings)
  • Draymond Green (Golden State Warriors)
  • Klay Thompson (Golden State Warriors)
  • Harrison Barnes (Golden State Warriors)
  • Kyle Lowry (Toronto Raptors)
  • DeMar DeRozan (Toronto Raptors)
  • Carmelo Anthony (New York Knicks)
  • Jimmy Butler (Chicago Bulls)
  • Paul George (Indiana Pacers)
  • Kyrie Irving (Cleveland Cavaliers)
  • DeAndre Jordan (Los Angeles Clippers)
