Damien Delaney joined Wednesday's Football Show on Off The Ball to sing the praises of Bayern Munich, after another dominant European display.
The 3-0 win over Lyon in the Champions League semi-final was less than a week after the 8-2 demolition of Barcelona, and Bayern's rhythm caught Delaney's eye.
"Bayern have gotten into their stride and strangled the life out of them," said the former Ireland midfielder. "It makes for a fascinating final."
"The one team that can stretch them in behind, and has the quality in the middle of the park, is PSG. PSG will exploit a potential weakness in Bayern.
"Neymar has the quality to not only make passes but also has a willing runner in Mbappé."
Those Parisian threats may be to little effect if Bayern hit their straps, according to Delaney.
"Once that juggernaut gets rolling, I think they can do it to anybody. PSG have Neymar and Mbappé but you look at their other midfield players like Ander Herrera, he'll get absolutely run right over.
"You look at Marquinhos, I know he scored a couple of good goals, he's a very good player, but he'll run right over. The other boy Paredes as well will just get blown out of the way.
"PSG are the best side equipped to possibly do Bayern but It won't happen. I think they'll have a plan for Neymar, they'll have a plan for Mbappé."
Bayern Munich system
There is a confidence in the Bayern Munich attack, that occasional defensive frailty is forgiven.
"They will get caught with this system, it's risky," says Delaney, "but the greater good is we're going to tack on five here and we are capable of doing that when we hit our full stride.
"Remember when Alaba scored that own goal [against Barcelona], there was a little wry smile as he was getting off the floor as if to say 'Jesus' but he wasn't worried.
"He knew 'we're on top, this goal has come against the run of play. I know my guys can get the job done here.'
"Mbappé and Neymar might be able to do something, whether they will be able to do enough, two or three goals, which is what they are going to need.
"Even if they get their noses in front, I fancy this Bayern team to run right over the top of them.
"They are an absolute unit and this high line is key to what they do, in terms of giving a platform for those six midfield players to go and be as dominant as they are.
For Delaney, the reason Bayern Munich are currently so dominant is as much about the relative strength of the opposition as Bayern's brilliance.
"Right now they are unstoppable because teams can't get through. Barca with Xavi and Iniesta get through that press. You've to beat the press through passing.
"Or Liverpool could beat the press by going direct and going at an equally high tempo. It's not unbeatable, there's just nobody at the minute in Europe that is capable of doing it, in the context of this year's Champions League, there's nobody with the skillset or the team.
