Moroccan heavyweight Youness Baalla appeared to attempt a bite at his Kiwi opponent during an Olympic boxing bout.
The incident occurred in the men's last-16 bout in Tokyo, and was reminiscent of Mike Tyson's bout with Evander Holyfield - which left his opponent with a torn ear.

Nyika had his say on the incident after the fight.
“Did you see that? I don’t think the ref saw it. She was the closest one,” the 25-year-old said, adding that his opponent probably tasted a lot of sweat.
“He didn’t get a full mouthful. Luckily he had his mouthguard in and I was a bit sweaty. I don’t remember what I said to him but I gave him a little bit of a cheek.
"I have been bitten once on the chest before at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. But come on man, this is the Olympics.”

"I've always backed myself and backed the people around me to lift me up,' Nyika said after the fight.
"I know I am capable of great things. I have every intention to be towards the top of that podium."
Boxing hopefuls
Meanwhile, Belfast's Aidan Walsh is one win away from securing a medal in the men's welterweight boxing at the Toky0 Olympics.
He's through to Friday's quarter-finals after collecting a unanimous points victory against Cameroon's Albert Mengue this morning.
“It’s brilliant,” the former Commonwealth medallist said on RTE after his bout. “It’s amazing to get the journey underway.
“I just take each fight as it comes from now. It doesn’t matter if it’s an Olympic final, an All-Ireland final or an Antrim title, every fight is as important to me as them all.
"It’s about listening to the coaches and the right tactics, getting in there an implementing them. The coaches got it right. I just do as they tell me and that’s it.”
