Arteta and Ancelotti's Stand-Off

Mikel Arteta and Carlo Ancelotti are expected to become Arsenal and Everton's new managers in the very near future.

Arteta has already confirmed himself as Gunners manager, while Ancelotti's appointment awaits.

Coincidentally both teams go head-to-head in the Premier League's 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday.

Neither is expected to take charge of their respective teams for that game which means they'll be watching on from the stands in close proximity to each other.

Duncan Ferguson and Freddie Ljungberg will lead their teams one last time.

So it's a different type of stand-off at Goodison Park to kick off the weekend.

That was among the fixtures Will O'Callaghan, Phil Egan and I previewed on the Paddy Power Half Hour.

Intrigue

But it's not the only intriguing battle across the weekend. With leaders Liverpool in Club World Cup action in Qatar, second meets third on Saturday evening.

Can Leicester put a further dent in Manchester City's title hopes and bolster their own chances in one fell swoop in the 5.30pm kick off?

Meanwhile, Tottenham can leapfrog Chelsea into the Top 4 if they beat the Blues on home soil on Sunday.

That match will be live on Off The Ball as will Manchester United's trip to Watford which we also preview.
