Rory McIlroy claimed third place at the French Open.
He finished 6-under par, five shots behind winner Thongchai Jaidee.
McIlroy had been tied for the lead after the first two rounds. Friday's second round of 66 in particular was spectacular and fired him right in contention.
But he did not carry that momentum into the final two rounds which saw him notch a 70 and 71, although his third meant he finished solidly among the chasing pack.
Italy's Francesco Molinari enjoyed a brilliant final round of 66 to steal a march and take second.
Padraig Harrington finished 3-over par after a final round of 67. That left him in a tie for 30th.
