The GAA have confirmed that the All Ireland senior championship promotion play-off between Westmeath and Kildare will take place this Saturday at two o'clock in Navan.
Westmeath ended up in the play-off by finishing second from bottom in the Leinster Championship round robin section while the Lillywhites got through by winning the Christy Ring cup.
Wicklow’s John Keenan will referee.
After last weekend's dramatic 4-18 to 2-22 win over the Kingdom, I caught up with Kildare manager Brian Lawlor who, firstly, wasn’t happy that his side have to win a play-off to earn promotion but secondly that they are getting no rest between their last game and their next.
