Gerry Thornley previews Ireland's second test in Argentina

On tonight's Wednesday Night Rugby, the Irish Times' Gerry Thornley joined us on the line from Argentina to look ahead to Ireland's second test against Argentina.

Last weekend's first match against the Pumas saw Joe Schmidt's side prevail by a 29 - 17 scoreline and Gerry expects a wider margin of victory.

"I think it would be a more convincing win to be honest. I would be surprised if there weren't any improvements," said Gerry, who believes the team will be stronger and less rusty.

"The team is liable to show up to seven or eight changes with the return of a slew of Leinster players who are coming off the back of Rabo success two weeks ago."

Casting his eye over the squad, he also explained why this tour is "make or break" for some of the fringe players in Joe Schmidt's selection.

He also spoke about the way that Argentinian players have become "less attractive propositions" with European club owners, although he also explained the strengths of Argentine rugby.
