Kevin McStay and Fergal O'Donnell become Roscommon joint-managers

Fergal O'Donnell and Kevin McStay have been confirmed as the new joint managers of the Roscommon football team.

The backroom team will have a Roscommon and Mayo background as O'Donnell and McStay will be joined by Stephen Bohan, David Casey and Liam McHale.

This will be O'Donnell's second spell in charge of his home county. He led Roscommon to the Connacht title in 2010 and previously led the Minor side to All Ireland title in 2006.

Mayo native McStay led Roscommon club St Brigid's to an All Ireland title in 2013. This will be his first managerial position in inter county football.

O'Donnell and McStay take over from John Evans. The Kerry native stepped down after Roscommon exited the Championship to Fermanagh in the Football Qualifiers.

A statement for the Roscommon County Board last night stated; "Fergal O'Donnell and Kevin McStay were ratified as Joint-Managers of the Roscommon Senior Football Team at tonight's Monthly Meeting of the County Board. They will be assisted by Selector Stephen Bohan with Coaches David Casey and Liam McHale among the backroom team."

"Speaking at the meeting Roscommon GAA Chairperson Michael Fahey extended his best wishes, and that of the Board, to the Management Team and wished them every success during the course of their term."
